RSVP Yes! And don’t worry, we’ve got you covered:
Wedding Guest Attire, Decoded!

If the invite says “black tie”:
This is the next most formal wedding dress code and usually means the wedding is an evening affair.
You need to be in a floor-length gown, preferably a classic all-black ensemble. And remember, this is not the time to be ‘experimental’…..

If the invite says “formal” or “black tie optional”:
The wording here indicates something slightly less formal than black tie is acceptable. So, a tuxedo for him isn’t required, but the event is still formal enough for one to be appropriate…..
You have a choice of a long evening dress, a dressy suit or a formal cocktail-length dress.  Don’t carry an oversize bag. Use a clutch or or a mini shoulder bag.

If the invite says “cocktail” or “semi-formal”:
Take your cues from the time of the event: Wear darker, more formal colors for an evening wedding; opt for light colors and fabrics for a daytime event.
Wear something you’d feel is easy to dance in, BUT that you would not consider as your go-to ‘day-to-night’ ensemble.

If the invite says “casual” or “daytime”:
Generally, casual means anything goes—but jeans, shorts and tank tops are probably not appropriate unless they’re specifically noted as acceptable.
We suggest wearing a dress or a jumpsuit you might wear on a date during the week. And don’t forget to accessorize!

We hope that we helped you decipher the wedding codes, so you know what you’re getting yourself into…. and you arrive to the wedding appropriately—and stylishly—dressed to perfection for the celebration! 🙂

Dori’s Bridal Collection – ‘My Day’ Blog Post

Every bride wants to look stylish and feel special on her wedding day. There are quite a few ways to achieve a timeless chic look. Dori’s fab bridal collection inspired our ‘My Day’ team to go out and photo-shoot a story that illustrates how to incorporate a statement piece of jewelry into a winning bridal style.

If you want to dial up the wow factor with a unique statement jewelry piece, here are some tips:
* The focus should be on the jewelry piece.  We suggest choosing relatively plain                  dress & shoes that don’t boast too many details.
* A statement necklace normally looks best with a strapless wedding gown.
* It’s better to bring the jewelry piece to your first appointment with the hair stylist, so             he/she can experiment with different looks that will complement the bridal statement           piece.
* We suggest natural wedding makeup with delicate eye shadows.
