Nancy’s Bachelorette ♥

It all started with an email:
“Dear Dori, My sister, Nancy and I are huge fans of your jewelry. We both lived in Israel for several years and we each own at least 10 Dori pieces (necklaces and earrings). We have turned many friends onto Dori Csengeri designs through the years. I live in NY and Nancy lives in Paris now. Nancy is getting married in Israel and I wanted to explore an idea with your team. I would like to throw a memorable event for Nancy and her close female friends in Israel before the wedding. Instead of the ordinary bachelorette event I was thinking it would be wonderful to weave in Dori Csengeri design since it’s been such a huge part of Nancy’s lifestyle. Would your team be interested in hosting Nancy’s bachelorette?”
Of course, we said: “Yes!” 🙂

We met at the studio, where Dori told Nancy and her friends how she developed her unique technique. She shared with them the “behind the scenes” of making Dori pieces and answered questions about her new line of kaftans & handbags and what makes her inspired…. Image

The next stop was our Parisian style boutique downstairs, where everyone was having fun trying on their favorite Dori pieces. Image
And then, it was time to toast to the bride-to-be.a toast 2…and toast some more…. 🙂

toast 3And show some sisterly love ♥♥♥

throwing riceMelanie, we had a blast hosting Nancy’s bachelorette at our studio.  You are the best sister ever!!! 🙂

Nancy, we’re really happy that you’ve found Mr. Right! Wishing you both all the best for the wedding and for the future. ♥♥♥

Dori & her team

Bonjour Paris

Meet our Studio Manager…that is Irina. Irina is our wonder-woman of organization who  manages a team of 25 embroidery artisans and gets all our orders shipped out in time.  Additionally, she maintains the extensive Dori designs library and…is our “go to person” for all fashion emergencies. Vogue needs a Dori haute couture piece for a photo-shoot in 2 days? An anxious hubbie desperately needs a pair of Dori’s earrings for a 10 years anniversary that is just around the corner? Irina remains calm and her motto is: “Yes, we can!”. So no wonder we think that she’s awesome and as a fun thank you gift Dori & Giora invited Irina to join them to the Premiere Classe Tuileries show in Paris. And yay! She did.
esti pics - dodo show 046The first few days of Irina’s visit were dedicated to the famous “must-see” spots in Paris (and the burbs) such as Château de Versailles, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Arc de Triomphe. She was even “invited” to a wedding just outside The Louvre…. 🙂

Dori enjoyed strolling with Irina in the streets of Paris and showed her some of her
favorite specialty stores.

Le Douze antique store. 🙂

And then…it was time to get serious and get ready for the Premiere Classe Tuileries show, so Irina rolled up her sleeves and helped Dori & Giora to set-up the booth and give it the final touches of the Dori signature look… 🙂

Irina had a good time “touring” the show, finding great designers and peeking at the upcoming fall-winter 2013-2014 trends…

Dori’s red hot Scandal earrings…. 🙂

After the show ended, it was almost time to go back home, so like a true fashionista Irina rushed to Galeries Lafayette for some fun shopping or rather eye shopping…

team Dori holiday wish list

‘Tis the season when….he’s making a list; he’s checking it twice; gonna find out who’s naughty or nice…. And while we at team Dori are not made of sugar and spice, we’re most certainly nice…so here’s what’s on our Holiday wish list this year…

much love from Dori

Dori’s ♥ list:

guggenheim-bilbaoI’m facintaed with the Frank Gehry “Guggenheim Museum” Bilbao, Spain. I’m amazed how Gehry incorporated “light” as one of the structure materials.  The reflections from the titanium scales create a sense of movement and I would love to just sit and watch how the the whole structure seems to alter throughout the day.

new zealandI’m a big fan of “The Lord of The Rings ” trilogy.  The scenary in the movies is out of this world…but… I would need to overcome my fear of heights before attempting a lord of the rings new zealand tour…oh well, at least I have tickets for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”…thank you Peter Jackson…. 🙂

Esti our store managerEsti’s (store manager) ♥ list:

Radiohead in concertI LOVE Radiohead and would be thrilled to get concert tickets (VIP box tickets anyone???) to anywhere in the world….London, Paris, Berlin….here I come… 🙂

marathon

I started running this year and if all goes well I plan to run the Tel Aviv marathon 2013, so being in top shape and…a pair of great running sneakers are pretty much at the top of my wish list.

desert rose earrings

One of the greatest team Dori perks is getting sneak peeks on Dori’s “latest and bestest”.  Here’s to the Desert Rose earrings from the spring-summer 2013 collection. I can hardly wait to see them at the store and get “to play” with them… 🙂

free diveSeeing the world from a bird’s-eye view, being able to fly and…the unbelievable adrenaline rush…what’s not to love about skydiving????

kakslauttanen-igloo-village-finland-thumbWinter is my favorite season and my idea of an ideal vacation is all about cuddling in front of the fire place, walks in the woods and watching the snow falling outside my window…

bellagioAfter seeing so many movies about Vegas, I’m very curious to have a firsthand “Las Vegas experience” …preferably with 1 or 2 million Dollars in my pocket to cover my “necessary expenses”…  🙂

sharon @ NYIGF 2011Sharon’s (USA sales & marketing) ♥ list:

meerkats

Ever since watching Meerkat Manor on Animal Planet I’ve been obsessed with these lil’ fellas. I’m practically all packed and ready to go to South Africa’s Kalahari desert…and being on the tall side,  I’m sure that the meerkats would be happy to stand sentry on my shoulder…or head… 🙂

 Super Bowl XLVI

My name is Sharon and I’m a NY Jets fan….need I say more? 😦  And even though the Jets are not going to make it to the playoffs this year…my inner quarterback would love to see super bowl XLVI live from New Orleans

bog-p891It’s not a nice thing to do…but I do play favorites with Dori’s jewelry pieces. And this time, I fell head over heels in love with Bogart the blue-eyed quirky pin….

share with us your holiday wish list… 🙂

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF YOU AND YOURS!!!! 🙂

team dori breakfast outing!

croissants, coffee and cake – oh my!

disclaimer: do not read this post if you are hungry and have not yet had your morning Cup of Joe 🙂

last week, team dori had a company outing at rothschild 12, a local hip cafe by day (bar by night), located in the heart of tel-aviv on the well-know rothschild boulevard. the cafe was reserved all morning especially for us, and we had the venue all to ourselves to eat, laugh & share good team dori memories 🙂

each year, dori likes to treat the team and dedicate a time where all may spend time together away from the studio and relax, enjoy one another’s company and reflect back on the past year’s success, new team additions and favorite memories.

before we all sat down to eat, we had to note how lovely cafe was set-up for our feast! tables were lavishly decorated with assorted specialty pastries, scones, cakes, & breads, and champagne, orange juice & cappuccinos were served to everyone. oh – and it only gets better … 🙂

a big block of butter was the table’s main centerpiece 🙂 with enough tasty butter to go around for days, the team still barely managed to put a dent in it! we had to take a photo just to prove it 🙂

just as we thought there was enough food to go around, the waitresses served us the biggest shakshouka pan we had ever seen! an israeli breakfast tradition, shakshouka is a tasty dish served with poached eggs, tomatoes, onions and spices (other fresh vegetables often added such as eggplant or bell peppers and even fresh goat cheese for taste) and simply warms the heart with its rich taste. the pan was so big – lets just say, we had plenty of leftovers 🙂

as we were finishing up our feast, dori gave a little heartwarming speech, thanking the team for coming and for being a part of her love for jewelry. a lovely breakfast turned into a memorable event for all and we rolled out of the cafe, filled with yummy food in our happy tummies and some new memories.

team dori thanks dori & giora for a lovely morning & some quality team bonding 🙂

have you been on any memorable company outings? what was the most special part about the event?
